Hopefully fixes this. Of course, you’ll need to restart.

  1. I downloaded the update to my trusty MacBookPro – original 2.0Ghz dual core intel and it will not reboot. Time and again of trying – no reboot. Shifting to Windows side of the drive doesn’t shake it down. Windows boots fine. The little rotating dial just rotates away for half an hour – no boot.

But My dual quad core MacPro – no worries. Update was as expected. Up and running immediately.

I tried booting the MacBookPro off the original Snow Leopard disc and using disk utilities to somehow shake the system in a disk repair and permission repair – but no fix that way.

    What’s to do?

  2. Sometimes system upgrades could be painful and it seems that you had the worst case scenario here.
Are your memory stock? Apple original?
Sometimes hardware failures in memory could bring those problems.
In any case you should bring your laptop to an Apple Store.
