iPad 2’s Display May be Thinner Than the iPad 1’s, But It’s Stronger

iPad 2Did you know that the iPad 2’s glass display is 27% thinner than the iPad 1’s? It’s true! You might think that because of that, the iPad 2’s display would be more fragile than its predecessor, but if you thought that you’d be wrong! The saintly folks at iFixYouri.com have performed some stress tests on the iPad 2 display, and the results will shock you!

Okay, maybe they won’t shock you, especially if you’ve just read the last paragraph, but iFixYouri.com found that the iPad 2 display is more resistant to breaks than the iPad 1 display. How is this miracle possible? Apparently it’s because the iPad 2 display has more give; when these panels break, its because they can’t handle the pressure applied to them, but a more flexible screen can handle more pressure, meaning it’s a lot tougher and harder to break. Science!
